We are officially approved by the IRS!
Honestly, it is still hard to believe that this really happened.
For many people, having a 501(c)(3) in the United States — especially alongside CRA charitable status in Canada — can feel very complicated and overwhelming. And to be honest, we felt that too at times.
Rest & Talk has been a ministry since 2016. For many years, we have been serving through volunteer work, walking alongside people, and following what God has placed on our hearts. We had a board, we had the vision, and we had the calling — but we didn’t have the official structure or documents in place. Then, in October 2025, we were approved as a registered charity in Canada. That alone felt like a huge step.
And now… fast forward to today — we are approved in both Canada and the United States. It’s hard to put into words. We truly never imagined it would happen like this.
God has been so amazing throughout this journey. He has brought each of us together for His glory, to help bring people back to Him — because that is where healing begins.
What we are seeing now is not just paperwork being approved. It is God providing what is needed so that we can serve in a more complete and sustainable way. These documents are not just legal requirements — they are part of His provision to reach those who need support, healing, and connection
This journey has not been easy. There were many challenges along the way. There were moments when it felt like a huge mountain was standing in front of us, blocking the path forward. But every time, God made a way.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith… You can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” — Matthew 17:20
We have seen this with our own eyes.
It is not by our strength, but by His. Prayer has been at the center of everything — not just asking, but building a relationship with Him, learning to trust Him, and experiencing His presence in every step.
“Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
We are seen, heard, loved, and provided for by Him.
And now, we move forward into what is next.
We are continuing to work toward the vision God has given us — including the Rapha Retreat Centre, counselling and helpline support, and a Deaf Home Church. There is such a deep need within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, where support and access are often limited, while many resources are readily available to others.
We believe God is making a way for people to come back to Him, to begin healing, and to walk a new journey.
It is truly incredible — and honestly mind-blowing — that we are now serving in TWO countries instead of one. What an honour it is to serve God and love others in this way.
